I have a 60 cube mixed reef ( softies, lps, acros, bubble tips, fan worms, gorgonian, etc..) my current stock list is a 4 year old percula, 2 year old neon dotty back, 2 year old bengai cardinal, and a 1yr old melanurus wrasse.. I had a 3 inch blue throat trigger in there for a year but he just launched himself out of the aquarium and so now im looking for a new fish.. I dont want anything thats gonna outgrow the tank and i dont want anything that may eat my corals. Im looking for something that will stay in the water colomn like an anthia but that isnt as hard to keep.

Might consider a Midas blenny . . . They're reported to mingle with Anthias in the wild. My African Midas is a golden yellow/orange color, with blue eyes and a fine blue edge to his dorsal. He tends to ride pretty high in the water column, and swims with a sinuous motion that most folks describe as "eel-like", but also reminds me a bit of a mahi-mahi.

Lots of peaceful and colorful wrasses out there. Firefish are cool

Ive had midas blennys and for some reason cant seem to keep them alive more then a few months but they are one of my favorite fish especially the African ones. The problem with the more peaceful wrasses and the fire fish is that my neon dottyback will chase them around causing them to hide and die of starvation. Somehow I've been able to keep a melanurus wrasse and they get along okay. The neon dottyback has really been a problem the mix of fish I have in there now is working out perfect but anything new really needs to be able to hold its own. I went to Aquarium Village on Saturday and they tried to sell me on a small Foxface rabbitfish which I ended up getting against my better judgement. I brought it home and within 15 minutes it was nipping at my corals. I brought it back to Aquarium Village and I ended up getting a really small Niger trigger. I know he's going to outgrow my tank and I specifically didn't want something that was going to do that but I really couldn't think of anything else to fill the spot of my blue throat trigger he was an awesome fish and perfectly well-behaved in The Reef never went after any of my shrimp, urchin, corals, fish, nothing.

I should have held out for another small male blue jaw or a small sargassum trigger. Those are really reef freindly
