I have my rock all picked out but I don't know if its possible to remove zoos from their plugs. Anyone have any insight on how to remove them from plugs and attach them to my rock without hurting them.

Nope - not without risking that they'll detach and blow away.

If I can't stand the site of the plug until they overgrow it - I usually saw away the excess leaving their attachment intact and gluing that small residual part where I want it.

If you are careful you can break the glue off the plug with no harm.
I use a small screwdriver (like for glasses)
Remember to wear eye protection!

If the glue looks like it might come off then I'll just try sliding a razor blade underneath the polyps. There has been a few mishaps over the years, but so far so good.

Ok. I will try that. Then simply glue them to the rock of my choosing?

Stupid question but does the glue hold under water? do i need to take the rock out of the tank first?

It is much easier if you can have the rock out.
Then when glued in place take a syringe and squirt saltwater on the superglue to activate the outer layer so it doesn't end up floating in the tank

Here is my zoas after gluing 6 polyps to the rock

you can do either one take out the rock or glue under water I use super glue gel. if I had to take out rocksto glue frags I think I would have left this hobby a long time ago lol.

+1 on the razor blade, that's what I normally do & then superglue gel /coral epoxy them wherever I want.

Just a thought ,,, take a Dremel drill,,, waller the rock out a bit to the size of the plug,, cut the stem off the plug and either use two part epoxy or super glue to glue the plug into its new home.
