Trying To Eradicate GSP

Hello I have been trying to eradicate GSP in my tank. I scrapped and cut what I could off and covered the rest with two part underwater epoxy. I would like to remove the epoxy at some point but have no idea how long it would take the GSP to die. Any one have an educated guess?

I'd wait at least a couple weeks as GSP is pretty resilient. I scraped all mine off a few months ago as they were starting to choke out my acropora. And knock on wood I haven't seen any trace of them since.
