Trying to find out what this is...

Bought this 90g and trying to get it ready to set up. On the back of the tank is an odd material, to me anyways, for the backsplash. It has a texture to it and almost reminds me of either spray in bed liner or spray on chalk board. Trying to identify it and see if there’s an easy way to remove it, thanks.

Welcome to R2R! Most people paint the back of their reef to hide plumbing and wires, if you want to remove it try a razor blade.

Hi welcome To R2R, yes I have it on mine so you don’t see straight through to the back, it hides cables, hang on filters etc. Also gives a good background to show off you fish or corals, rather then being distracted by seeing wires, wallpaper or painted walls. If you do decide to get it off as mentioned with a razor blade, there are alternatives for glass covering backgrounds to your liking.

Thanks for the info guys and the warm welcome. I’m not quite sure if I wanna keep it or not. I do enjoy seeing what’s going on behind my rocks, especially when my pistol shrimp decides to live back there, in my 29g. Gonna start getting this 90g set up in the next few weeks. Been slowly collecting what I need for it for the past few weeks
