Trying to get clown to host RBTA

So I got my other clown (now passed) to host this same anemone by doing this. I have a picture of a clown in an anemone, and the clown and the anemone in a small breeder box. I know some people don't like this method but it has worked for me in the passed and I've tried everything else. He still won't host it! What do I do? Is the clown too young or something? Please help

The Anemone hosts the clown, not the other way around. Sometimes no matter what you do, you can't force a clown to be hosted by anything. They do so when they're ready. There are tons of tricks and tips you can google/youtube and try, but the bottom line is, if the clown isn't ready or doesn't like the prospects, they won't live there. WHat works best for me are having Nems and Clowns that occur naturally in nature, ie my Picassos and Black Ice with H. Mags. Never takes more then 24 hours.

How long have they been in the breeder box? Probably needs more time

Time is your friend. Lots of anemones helps. I had a maroon clown immediately molest the RBTA before I placed it and I've had ocellaris clowns that took over two years to "host"

I have a pair of clowns and just the female is host by the anemones. Unless the female won't let the male get near the nems

Let's be honest here, a clown will be hosted by anything from the corner of a tank to an overflow to a leather to a torch. Most clowns will take to a BTA over time, where as a Maroon will almost always jump right in.

Have you tried feeding the anemone what you normally feed the clown to see if he wants to go in to get some of the food?

I have seen but never tried a video that may work when introducing clowns to the tank. They placed a tube in the tank just above the anemone and placed the clowns in the tube. The gradually swam down and hosted with the anemone. The video stated it was a sure way to do this. I could not find the video but here is a link that shows how it is done. Unlike the link the video was done with very small tank raised clowns not large ones. I do not know if that makes a difference.

Nope.

They are naturally hosted by H. magnifica and S. gigantea; 2 of the more difficult hosting anemones to keep.

Same thing happened to me. I had a RBTA in the tank and was introducing a Maroon Clown and the clown was trying to get to the nem while it was still in the bag

Maybe it wasn't luck and it's maroon clowns!
