Trying to get new fish to eat

Just got two fish shipped from an online vendor that gets their fish straight from the ocean. What’s the easiest way to get them to start eating food I offer? Should I start with a certain food and then switch over to something else?

What kind of fish? Sometimes it may take a day or two before they decide to eat in captivity and depending on the fish and what they normally eat.
