So for a few weeks now I have been getting some fairly heavy matting of a what makes me think cyano over some of my sand and rocks. It gets bubbles underneath it and gets stringy. Everytime I try to syphon it I blows into a million peices and not much else I can do with it . It's in my sump as well. I've cut my feeding back and ramped my skimmer up as well. Before I try doing anything else, I want to correctly ID what it is I am dealing with...

I got out my 1960s mirrored microscope and gave her a look. I see what I think is just gha, which is what is green, and the red color is comprised of very very tiny fibers as well. I cannot even get my scope to focus close enough without driving the lense through the slide. So maybe you guys can have a look and see what you think.

First picture is at 32x, then 60x, then 150x. And that's the closest I can get focused.

And fyi, I scooped a little bit of the algea and dropped it into a cup of tank water and added the mL of peroxide and nothing has turned pink. So that makes me think not cyano?? Maybe spirulina, just can zoom in enough to confirm maybe

Well I found my micro thin slide covers and it allowed me to get a smaller sample that was flatter and get as zoomed in as I could, rather than doing slide over slide. I prepped my sample and slide like an adult rather than a 2nd grader haha. Just kidding, don't take offense please. And I was able to use my 15x eyepiece and my 100x objective. So if not mistaking that's 1500x right? Well this is what I see. No segmentstions of the filiments, at all that I can see under any magnification.
