Last night the brown substance was not present at the base of the Favia. In fact, tissue had grown from the favia down into the area where the brown substance is located. It seems the Favia tissue has receded or that the brown substance is tissue from the Favia. Before I took any action I wanted to make sure that new tissue growth doesn’t sometimes appear like this or identify what it is. The last video was taken Sunday night (2 days) ago

Appears to be a dead spot. Blow on it with a gentle burst from turkey baster and see what it looks like when area clears.
