Any ideas what is in the photograph? Both pics are of the same item but different sides. Both images are magnified by 20x or more

That's a new one for me! Looks like a Pierogi. Now all we need are some caramelized onions and Kielbasa and we'll have ourselves a nice meal.

If im not mistaken, it is a type of sponge and likely got its pattern from a shell it may have formed on before dislodging.
