I’ve got it down to dos but not sure if I want to pull the trigger and go full apex. Ghl I’m using their mini bar for my light timer and fuge light or the ecotec I’m upgrading to the mp 40 soon. I just need something that I can monitor when I’m not home. Any pros and cons to these other than price lol. I am just starting on coral but I already know I will need to dose at some point. It will be a mix tank lps dom. I’ll post my current tank to give y’all an idea.

I wouldn't do apex I have had nothing but expensive failures

I’ve read that DOS systems can be loud. I’m using the Ecotech Versa. I have an Apex controller but I can’t do anything fancy like if you run a DOS/Trident combo. But I have the Versas, two MP40s and a M2 pump. Mobius works well for me.

This is the one I’m more leaning to as I’m about to upgrade to the mp40 for my tank.

For me I have everything Apex. What works for one may not work for another. I love my Apex. I have had nothing but positive experiences so far with mine which has been about a year. As far as the Dos, yes they are somewhat loud but I have mine in a closet behind my tank and in a cabinet next to my tank so the noise is no bother. Nothing bette than to be able to monitor your tank from anywhere especially when you start to dose. Good luck with whatever you choose

If and when you decide to dose you can always go with the Jebao dosers there are inexpensive and work just not as precise but that is not really a factor unless keeping very expensive Acros

I got a steal and got a home wrecker because some one put it in the highlighter spot for an auction and it wasn’t caught until the auction person picked it up after it started. I got it for $81 but I think that’s gonna be my only one. My lps is scolys and hammer and torches so not to high end.

I wouldn't go apex if you only care about dosing. If you have plans to add other automation then sure. The apex dosing can be loud if you are dosing quickly. If you dose slowly throughout a few hours then you wont be able to hear it.

If you do have a apex controller you can use other dosers with it, but you will have to manually program it. I have 2 apex dosing pumps. One for automatic water changes, and one for calc/alk. They were simple to set up and I haven't had any issues with either of them. At the end of the day if you buy a apex dosing pump, you are just paying a premium for ease of use.
