I just acclimated a long tentacled anemone in my tank. He would not settle in my dug out spot. After trying for 30 minutes to settle hm, I am now taking a break. His base is on top of sand, swollen. I put rocks around to hem him in. Will he settle and burrow in on his own?

Anemones aren't really known for doing what you want them to.

It will likely move, just be prepared for that, because they will wander into powerheads.

My best advice would be to immediately feed it when it seems to find a spot. Not sure if it works, but a happy anemone won't wander around. Once they settle, they can stay put for years.

I’ve had similar issues. Unfortunately they will move where they like it best. This is usually not idea for the tank owner but I’ve been fortunate enough thus far that they haven’t disrupted any other coral. Good luck.

Thanks everyone. I will check him in the morning.

My Condy Anemone did what it wanted to. I got it to finally attach to a rock only to find it across the tank the next day. Once it found a spot it was there for over a year until I removed it.

What everyone else said. Placing a Nem in a spot is like dumping a bag of toys in frint of a toddler and trying to make him play with one particular one. Give him time and he will develop his own favorite
