I am in the process of planning corals for my new 20G Nuvo tank. I have a decent list of what I want and it is listed and color coordinated so I can do easy placement in the picture.

Dark blue- candy cane

Dark green- ponape birds nest, green tip pink birds nest, yellow lantana Montipora

Orange- Zoas

Light blue- Acan/blasto/Duncan (somewhat undecided in this spot tbh) one or the other not all

Black- GSP

White- plate coral

Purple- Monti cap (on back/side glass)

Red- Euphyllias (torch,hammer,frogspawn)

Yellow- Pulsing Xenia

Does this seem like a good layout?

Looks like a plan, the Xenia will most likely be hard to manage once it establishes itself even isolated on sand bed.

Don't underestimate Xenia's tenacity. Will you be okay if the Euphillia does not keep it in check. If not, go with a "safer" coral...there are lots of choices.

I’m fully prepared. Girlfriend has been turned down on many many fish for this tank so I’m ready to give Xenia a chance for her.

Whatever you like is what's gonna look best to you!

random thoughts, since you ask.
Zoa's are easiest to see near the front glass.
Agree w being careful w gsp and xenia
Good placement of your lps (blasto/acan/frogspawn) between softies. Some acans have ridiculously long sweeper tentacles.

I kind of like candy canes mounted to the face of a rock. Then they kind of grow out and up towards the sun and the entire polyp is more visible. Ofc, that means you get to pick another coral for the top, sunny perch on that same rock!

Thanks!

Zoa’s will be about 2” behind front glass and clearly visible! Was one of my reasons for placement.

I’m leaning towards a Duncan in that spot instead of the acan or blastos for now but it is something I have thought about.

The candy cane I will probably wait till one of the later corals. I know I want it but I’m with you on the placement I want it on the face of a rock but I couldn’t figure a good placement so towards the back it was.

Thanks for the comments it really helps the mind wander.
