I noticed today that my tank was seeping drops toward the top of the tank, So to advert a catastrophe, I would like to know if there is anyone in the NE Ohio area, that has a 150-180 gallon in the garage they are not using by chance? Not looking to break the bank but let me know what you have. I have a "Band-Aid" on it for the time-being.
Thanks,
Ernie

Unless you are real comfortable with the band-aid...

If a seam is really going you should also have a Plan B while you await Plan A. On New Years Eve... thanks Murphy.

Give some thought to how you might more safely stay in situ. If the drip is high in the display this is totally feasible.

a) Lower the water level to stop leak and reduce weight/pressure on that seam. 3-4 inches below if you can. This means return pump off and drain from sump/display.
b) At that size, you have in tank powerheads, but you might have to lower those along with the new water level.
c) Pull heaters from sump to display well below waterline. (Sorry if being pedantic but safe)
d) Keep bumping this post as you do have a good title. Just REALLY bad timing.

Strap the tank, middle and high ... saved a 220 blowout unlil in located another tank.

Good luck

Thanks, so far I have emergency plan triaged and ready to go, (brute, buckets and barrels) the compromise is toward the top, about three inches down and the emergency "band-aid" is holding thus far. Looking for a replacement tank at the moment. First a light last week then this a week later...NOT giving up.

I moved from Ohio 2 years ago. There’s a lot of reefers there. Join Ohioreef.com forum. There’s a lot of great people there. There is typically someone that will have what you need. And you may find some local reefers too!

There is also a NEO saltwater group on Facebook. I am about 1hr south of Cleveland. Keep us posted if you need extra hands also

When I get one I will post the switch...buckets an all.

Thanks, I will let you know as I have also posted there as well. Where you at? I'm in Ravenna...

Wooster, 44691. Probably 2hr actually from you. But either way, if it’s an emergency just let us know and I’ll see what I can do

Thanks, I'll let you know. I hope it doesn't turn into that...praying.
