Trying to raise Dendronephthya and Scleronephthya part1

That's true. You could also technically cut branches or tips of branches. But they do need to be growing for that to work. Hopefully we can get to that point. Sorry to hear you lost more.

Finally managed to take a picture which shows the real colours. I'm really impressed by this colony of Scleronephtya! :)

Interesting color. Has it extended yet? I'd love a picture of it fully opened I'll bet it looks great.
Yes, but it doesn't extend so much more than on the picture. Here's a picture from two days ago. This corals is the one to the right on the crater.

I need to learn photography under LED lights.. :)

You know some scleronephthya have defined octo-polyps, some don't, also unless you get specimens directly fresh from ocean. We get not so great specimens sometimes, yours are still tryig to aclimated . Their really nice.

So far they extend some times during the day time. Not sure if that's because the concentration of food in the water varies in between dosings or something else.

I was thinking, I think this is a really good idea. Why don't you send the Scleronephtya corals to me, and when babies come. I'll let you choose first from everyone else. Yes? I think it's a good idea.

That's normal. I've read water needs a noticeable green tint. I use white cup, pour DT h20 in it. To see tint.

But we're not even past first week yet :D so there's a long way to go before we know if we're doing things right.

When you have new pictures of scleronephthya, post them here, keep my thread going, till I get some dendronephthya. Please.

I located straight from one source m/L dendronephthya $3.50ea. Trying to get a total. next week I'll know . We'll see
