Trying to remove encrusted SPS that went rogue.

I realize this may not be seen as a "problem" but I had a few SPS take off and completely encrust some of my rock work. The problem part is that I had a 2 part ALK overdose a while back and now all my corals are bleached and lack any color at all. I still have good PE but with out the color I'd like to cut it back or replace it altogether. So what is the best way to eliminate the encrusted parts without just covering them with glue or epoxy that would ensure they don't come back to compete with the corals I'm putting in their place. Following! This has actually been a question of mine for a long time. I specifically wonder how people keep encrusting montis is mixed reefs. Seems like it would just keep covering the rock and inevitably cause problems. To frag it you have to cut the rock it's on. Makes no sense to me.

I was thinking maybe boiling water in a turkey baster but don't know how effective that would be in completely eliminating it.

That's interesting, although I wonder how it could affect the rest of the tank

Thoughts on how this effect the rest of the tank? There are nearby corals that I want to avoid killing.

Turn pumps off, and be careful. Its thicker than water so it stays where you put it for the most part. The only thing I’ve tried into that it didn’t work well with is GSP. It definitely temporarily raises your PH so doing small sections at a time is recommended

Unfortunately this would not be a good option for me. They would be the only shells really in my tank. Also the particular area is pretty prime real estate since it’s center front of my tank. Pretty much the first thing you see when you look at it.
