Trying to track down this Rainbow Acan... anyone recognize the pic?

Alright I've been searching all over the net for Rainbow Acans the last couple of days and saving pictures of samples I want... but I forgot to get the info of the place and the guy that posted the pic to try and track down a big colony to get a frag.

Let me know if anyone knows where more info on the pic or particular colony can be located, thanks.

Well I'm going to assume this is under heavy actinics... so It could be legit...

I've litearlly been searching again for that pic for 2 days in every single post I can.

Still nothing.

cherry corals had some that were that spectacular, and more. some other fellow michigan reefers have some just as beautiful, as well. junior has some dragon scales (i think that's what he said they were called)

and, lucky charms (I so hope to get some of these some day!)

these are junior's pics, not mine. he sometimes sells them, and he does ship. don't expect he will have any dragon scales for quite some time, though.

That was mine. Search some threads from over a year ago. I made several frags that went around here. I think gadgets got the last one I sold. It of course changed over time but I did keep a 10 polyp frag.

its the only thing I want to fill my tank with. Rainbow Acans.

Casey, I looked through all of your posts, but did not find the one I found that original actinic picture in...

Do you know where it would be off hand? I'd like to re-read the whole thread.

So you mentioned you kept a good sized colony... is that one ready to be fragged again yet?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that original pic is horribly NOT white balanced.

The real deal would not look like that.

However, i am SURE that is a knock out in person.

Ive got a few that a very similar.

Ive got a mini colony of skittles that i might post up at a colony first...but $$$, so i might frag it into 2-3 polyp pieces.

I have a colony sized frag of the pic you just posted that im going to move, and im going to look at the mini colony of rainbows, and see where i can frag it clean. colony of the pictured ones are not as bright, as they are under different lighting for some time now. I would imagine they would color up just the same as the ones below.

Please note, that is an actinic only picture, it was white balanced for accuracy, but I just want to be clear that is not under 12k lighting by any means.

I only frag acans that i can get clean through, so there are no partials, and all untouched polyps.

I;m alright with the actinic pics... they are a huge part of my daily lights, so I will see them just like that hopefully.

what do you mean a colony sized frag?

I have 250k 14k phoenix right now but will be going to 20k as soon as I can.

So the lighting is rigth for better coloration...

I would just be looking for 2 polyps of these red ones... how much would you want per polyp for those? (You can PM me if you'd like)

Perhaps we can work out a deal for 2 rainbows and 2 of these reds?

let me know. i'm not in a rush, but would like to pick up a couple of show pieces over the next 2 months or so and just want to set it up ahead of time.

shoot, dude, junior has frags that are well out of my price range. he's pushin the good stuff, bro! he's got a diamond-blade bandsaw, so expect nicely fragged frags.

you've got your fine-arts collectors? junior is what i would call a fine-coral collector. check out his website -yes (i don't know if he sells stuff, but he has a ton of sweet pic's!)
