So I am trying to wrap my mind around what my goal is when it comes to flow. Currently, I have two Nero5's in my Innovative Marine 50g Lagoon. The pumps are offset, one closer to the front on the right, and the other closer to the back on the left. This gives me a sort of a vortex type effect, dump food into one pump, and it'll circulate it around to the other, which keeps it moving throughout the tank.

Does that seem correct? The way I understand it on a surface level: Flow keeps detritus from building up in dead spots around the tank. Or is there something else I should be trying to accomplish here?

I briefly tried playing with the flow today and moved the pumps to point directly at each other and set up a counter-sync pulse mode, but it seemed like a lot of movement for what I have in here.

I may be putting too much thought into this, but I am eager to learn if there's a better way I can be approaching this.

Thanks!!

Sounds like you are on the right track! Check out the Bulk Reef Supply (BRS) videos on flow. They have a few that would give some good pointers + advice
