TSB not doing well after treatment thoughts please?

Here is the background I posted the other day:

***I have 3 fish in my DT. A Timor wrasse, TS Blenny and a pink streaked wrasse.
Each was quarantined, 30 day copper, two rounds of prazi 5-7 days apart, and 14 days Seachem focus and GC with food

The TSB flashed when I first put on QT in early August. I did a freshwater dip, it seemed to help and then after copper, I dosed prazi twice. I forgot to look for flukes in the container after treatment

In early February I noticed the TSB flashing/scratching in DT. The Timor was also in the DT. I dosed the DT staring 2/9, twice with Prazi. It seemed to resolve.

Over the past few days the TSB and now the Timor seemed to have started flashing/ scratching again. not a lot. No other obvious symptoms

Is this likely prazi resistant flukes? They've each been treated twice with Prazi now ***



I did a freshwater bath on the TSB Thursday. It was difficult to tell but I think I saw flukes in the residual water, one or two larger ones and some tiny ones but not 100% sure. I was advised to do a Fenbendazol 12 hour bath on all three fish which was completed at 8am Sunday morning with no issues.

The TSB is not eating, and has not eaten since the freshwater bath late Thursday. I see no symptoms whatsoever except lethargy and no eating by him. No scratching/flashing and head shakes as before, and breathing probably easier than prior to Fendbendazol.

I'm concerned that whether there might be something else going on??? Should I start copper (he's already not eating)? Just wait it out

Please advise???

I think I posted this on your previous thread. I had the exact same experience with 3 wrasse went through copper, Prazi, and fenbendazole and continued flashing afterwards. I just finished another 14 day copper treatment and the remaining two are healthy and not flashing. I lost one to what turned out to be velvet that got through my first 14 days of copper. None of them ever showed spots, etc probably because of their slime coat. It wasn’t until one was breathing hard and fast and died that I determined it was velvet and they went back into copper. I thought my first copper treatment was solid but I guess I slipped up somewhere.
If you had flukes between the Prazi and fenbendazole you shouldn’t have any flashing from flukes.

The Timor has been hiding in sand container since I put him in there.

PSW has never flashed but he was only in the DT for about a month, he's fine and eating

This is a tough one, it would be easier if the Timor had been out and around and either healthy or displaying symptoms. (Don’t disturb him). Let’s see if we can get some other eyes on this.

If a bunch of flukes dislodged it can cause temporary discomfort. Did anything come off in the dip?

I'd say it's likely flukes, yes but I'd like to know if anything came off in a dip.

I think I saw one or two larger ones and some tiny ones, but honestly, it was not obvious.

Is it just taking some time to recover from the entire ordeal perhaps?

Flukes can do a lot of damage, there are usually more than you see in a dip.

I hate to start him and the other two fish in QT on copper, and make things worse with the TSB's not eating.

I do sense he's more comfortable, breathing easier, with no flashing, head shakes, etc

My Blenny still will not eat. He's pretty much staying in one spot. The Timor came out this morning, but I had to move the Timor into another QT , he was causing too much commotion. I have not seen the Timor flash or the TSB flash. No other symptoms are present, breathing seems normal

This sucks about the blenny. I'm thinking that the fenbendazole got rid of the Prazi resistant flukes, but maybe not in time to save the blenny, perhaps the damage has been done

I'm assuming there is no reason to consider copper at this point in case this is something else??

If the only symptom is not eating then no. Copper can also suppress appetite and that’s the last thing you want to do. I would just keep trying to entice it to eat.
