I have TSB previously prophylactically treated in QT with 30 days copper, GC with food, and two rounds Prazi, and now in the DT for 4 months with Timor wrasse and some snails. In QT I'm pretty sure he had external parasites and did a freshwater bath and prazi and it resolved.

Twice in the past two weeks, I saw him flash on the rocks on two occasions but just very mildly one time each. Late yesterday, I noticed a more serious flash, momentary strange swimming, some lethargy and he's only eaten one or two pieces of food today and that's it.

I tried to net it to do a freshwater bath, but he hid deeply in the rocks and I could not get to him and he's now spooked after that episode. So yesterday night I decided to treat DT with Prazi. Today, I think there may be some improvement in lethargy, but it's not really eating so far, or barely. I see no obvious signs of disease, no spots, breathing seems to be about normal. He's not moving around as much it usually does.

I'm not sure exactly what is going on with him so any help would be great? Should antibiotics be considered?

If I need to move into QT and treat with copper (if I can even catch the thing), the problem is I have a pink streak wrasse in QT right now that just completed 30 days of copper and one dose Prazi. I have a an invert QT that sat fishless for 76 days until I put one fire shrimp in a week ago and am now waiting for it to molt and then into DT. What might be the best way to manage this scenario if I decided copper is the next step? Can I move the PSW into invert QT without wrecking the prophylactic treated already completed? Should I just move the PSW into the display with only one Prazi treatment in QT and TSB in QT as appropriate?

Thanks!

For mystery illnesses with the symptoms you describe, I like to treat with Furan2 for 10 days.

Can furan2 be used with prazi pro?
Yes, it can. Highly recommended to heavily oxygenate the water: use a powerhead aimed up at the surface where it is "actively" rippling the water surface. There is a chemical in PraziPro, Oxybispropanol, that uses/absorbs O2 from the water to the point where it can injure the fish.

Is this the 10 day regimen?
Day 1 - dose 1 pack per 10G
Day 2 - dose
Day 3- WC
Day 4-dose
Day 5-dose
Day6- WC
Day 7 dose
Day 8-dose
Day 9 WC
Day 10 dose

Am I missing something? This is in my DT is that ok? It’s 56 gallons total water. Only one other fish and snails

The directions state only dose 4 times total

I would not use Furan2 in a DT. Recommend only in a QT.

Furan2 can do some damage to your bio filter in rocks and sand. Unknown the effects on your snails. Some reefers have used it for treating zoas in the DT.

I can’t catch him. He hides deep in large rock when I get nearby. Any other options?

It would be a good idea to test your water parameters, to see if things are stable or if anything is off. Also, whats your feeding regiment with the blenny? They are mainly herbivores & are constantly grazing on algae in their natural habitat. Are you providing it with a proper diet? Might be best to present it with a bit of seaweed rubber band to a piece of rock near the area it tends to hide in & keep observing its behavior. Doing this will make it comfortable enough to begin swimming in open waters & be able to get a better look at it. From my experience, blennies are some of the most skittish fish I have kept & it usually takes them a while to swim out & present itself while the keeper stands in front of the DT. The more you attempt to trap it & fail, the more it will become stressed & run the risk of losing its protective coat, leading to other unwanted illnesses. If you really need to catch it, probably be best to do it while lights are out & pull the rock it hides in. Good luck.

I’ve had him for 5 months. Diet is correct. Something is wrong. I’m going to set up another 10g tomorrow and then try to catch him in a smaller rock he often hangs out in a few times a day and pull the rock with the assist of a large net. His main rock is large and buried in 5” of sand so I can’t pull that one. If I get him in new hospital tank I’ll treat with antibiotic. I have a sponge and matrix already seeded in DT for 2 months. I’ll test paramters first but I don’t think that’s the problem. There is a wrasse and Trochus snails in DT and they are fine
