Hi,

I'm curious on how close my temp should match while doing tank transfer. I'm sure closer is better, but what's a realistic range to shoot for? Within 1 degree? Half a degree? Or is it worth the effort to try and get to within .1 degrees?

Half a degree. The least amount of stress possible is the best. The tank being transferred to is best to be a little warmer if not an exact match.

Not an answer to your actual question but this is easy to do with the jager heaters. I use a thermapen (fancy cooking thermometer) to validate readings and calibrate these heaters. Once calibrated my QT is an exact match to my apex run DT. I would say calibrate them, run them exact, and then you do not have to worry.
