I may be thinking too much..............but lately it's been hot and water temp often goes to 82 or 83 degF. Although it does not bother the fish I'm wondering if I should do the transfers a little sooner? Doesn't the ich go through life cycle faster when warm?

I'm not an expert but personally have had much better success rate when doing transfers every 48 hours instead of 72 hours. It is a little more work, but the fish gets fresh water every 48 hours and there is more of a safety net in preventing the ich cycle since you are doing the transfer much earlier then they are known to hatch.

OK but would 48 hrs be enough for all adult stage ich to fall off the fish? I'll prob go with 60 hrs+/- 2

Higher temp shouldn’t be used, it lowers the oxygen saturation capabilities of the water and that’s no bueno in TTM.

It’s also not proven to impact marine ich marginally :)

Thank you but I was not trying to raise the temp but instead the weather caused the temp to rise.

Oh, well that’s what I get for reading quickly at work. My fault! Rising temp no bueno a fan blowing in the water will cool it off a bit.

Right! I always have a good fan for hot days that's plugged into a timer 2 hrs on and 1/2 hr off to avoid overheating the fan. I may add a small one just for the QT. Thank you!
