Tuan's Red Sea 200XL Reef

Just ordered the Red Sea Reefer 200XL G2 from BRS today. Have the XR15 Pro Gen 5 to pair with it. Can't wait till it gets here!

I will be going with FL aquacultured live rocks with this build, along with pre quarantineed fish suppliers.

I will need a Skimmer for it. Will be going with a heavy bio load.

This will be my first tank with sump.

Maybe a yellow watchman goby or tail spot blenny or Mandarin we'll see.

Just some ideas for your sump. Really liked the Tunze MAR for growing chaeto! Also the slimline acrylic 10 gallon water container for the ATO.

I looked up Nyos skimmer and boy are they pricey. Is it quiet? worth the cash?

Very quiet. Couldn’t hear it and the setup was in my living room. Look on Marketplace and other forums for a used one.

It has a really small footprint which is great for the tight sump!

I'm going to automate as much as i can with this build. Does anyone know if the new Reefmat will fit in the sump?

good idea, I've been checking the classifieds for the last 2 weeks for equipment to add. I was able to snag a brand new XR15 Pro Gen 5 for $370 shipped! lol

That's the plan. Going to add the Reefmat if the sump allows. The new G2 has adjustable sump chambers for the rollers.

The sump is very small. Adding a Reefmat is going to severely reduce your space in the sump. Here’s a cheap, easy solution. Installed these 3D printed 1/3 filter cups months ago and got rid of the filter socks on my RSR. Now I swap out a very small piece of filter floss every 5 days. Much, much simpler, cheaper, and quicker.

controller - apex or hyrdros? I'm confortable with Apex . never used Hydros before

I have the XL300 if you go like you are with all Ecotech components then everything will be on the Mobius app which is great to use. I went with eshopps S200 skimmer, banshee 10g ATO and Red Sea doser which fits perfectly on top of the banshee.
