Tube anemone quarantine advice

I will be receiving a tube anemone from DD soon. With the water in the tube and NPS, I planned on a bucket quarantine in a jam jar of sand for 15 days for incubation with no host. I've never had one and was wondering how fragile the tube is if I saw something I wanted to snap off or glue over on the tube? Any other advice or suggestions?

Congrats on your new addition!
How deep is your sand bed? If it is shallow I would recommend using a piece of 1" PVC or flex tube for their permanent home. This will also protect the delicate tube, and keep it right where you want it. I didn't quarantine mine, I just made a spot in the tank where it wouldn't be disturbed or it disturb others.

Thanks Troy. I researched all that and you have some nice specimens. It will live in a PVC pipe camouflaged in a cave. I quarantine everything, even though divers den says they do. Velvet is 15 days without a fish to host I believe. I didn't want to put a hole in it's tube snapping off a hitchhiker.

I've had it for 24 hours now and not so good. The end where I think the anemone is has puffed up a little I think. It looked pretty beat up in the shipping bag, cloudy water and mucus floating around. The bag didn't have any off smell though. Everything was still at temperature when it went in the quarantine tank. I didn't bury it in the scotch glass because I thought it would puff up.

I wouldn't worry yet. Mine checked out for over a week before I saw it the first time, and it was only in transit for less than an hour. Look for it at night, when all of your lights have been off for a while.

iT'S WEIRD YOU GUYS ARE NOT ABLE TO SEE YOUR TUBE ANEMONE MUCH DURING THE DAY TIME, i HAVE 2 AND BELIEVE ME i CAN SEE THEM OUT ANY TIME OF THE DAY BUT i MUST AGREE THAT DURING THE NIGHT THEY EXPAND MORE THEN NORMAL SIZE DURING THE DAY BUT AGAIN EVEN ON DAY TIME i CAN SEE THEM OPEN GOOD SIZE (SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS)
