Hi, my Ocellaris Clownfish has not being doing well for a while, and last week I noticed a rough patch on his side. I thought that maybe it was just the result of being a little harassed by his “buddy” but a couple of days ago I noticed some kind of bump in that area.
I suspected fluke (but didn’t want to do a fresh water dip to avoid stressing him), and I dosed the DT with Prazipro as directed. Today it seems that the “bump” has the appearance of some kind of worm/parasite hanging out of his skin.

I don’t think ever seeing something like this. Do you guys have an idea of what it is and how to treat it?
It’s on his left side, on the white skin, near the bottom.

Thank you, good idea. I also tried to take another without actinic lighting, it’s not so easy to see.

Sorry but I really can't see much on this end. Here's a link to pictures of most fish diseases/parasites. Roughed up skin and something coming off almost sounds like Brook. Could be that your fish is a carrier of the disease and only slightly shows the disease. Prazipro treats most flukes and some worms. Ruby Reef Rally will treat Brook. Best in a QT.

Thank you, yes I realize it’s really hard to see on video and I wonder if it was an optical illusion caused by the actinic lighting. I tried to do another one in slow motion, I can clearly see the bump but not sure about things hanging out anymore... (edit: I guess YouTube doesn’t support IPhone slowmo)

I have been going through the pictorial index, many times :) and to me it doesn’t look like Brooklynella, especially because I would expect him to be dead already after several days, but I get your point about carrier, but the other fishes are doing just fine... maybe more like Lymphocystis, it has some kind of cauliflower appearance.

Here's another link that might help to ID your fish's situation. You might be dealing with some form of roundworm that the prazi took care of.

Thanks, well I guess right now it's a wait and see. I will repeat the Prazipro in another few days, and hopefully the little fella pulls through, he still eats very well and swims a lot.
