Came home from a Tday dinner and one of my tube worms was out of his tube. He was on a rock a little piece away with the current. I reached in and touched him to see if he was alive. I touched him three times and he did not move. Fearing he would foul the tank, I snatched him out and gave him a circular funeral. Then I read on a website that they sometimes, for whatever reason, relocate themselves. I thought for sure he was a goner when I touched him. Did I make a mistake?

Hi, sorry about your tube worm :(
I am not sure of the response but this post will give your thread a lil' bump.

While you waiting on someone to chime in, let me say ...

That's very interesting. I've never read that before about tube worms. In my experience, they shed their crown when really stressed and the only time I've seen them out of their tube if right before dying. Following along because now I'm very curious too.
