Hello,
I have two tubing questions. I have a couple feet of 1/2" clearish silicone tubing going from the pump in my sump to my tank return. It has accumulated some algae which may be inhibiting flow but I would just like to get rid of. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to clean it out?
I also have two feet of 1" (?) flex tubing that is grey coming from my overflow and going to my sump. Is it necessary to clean this. It is solid colored. Just wondering if bacteria or anything could accumulate in it over time. If it is, how could I do it? Thank you.

Wrap the clear tubing in something to block the light. You can get pipe insulation wrap at the hardware store or you could use duct tape, fabric, etc. You can unwrap it after a month and the algae will be gone or you can just leave it wrapped.

No need to clean the opaque tubing.
