where is the best place to put tubs blue zoo's, have 8 bulb, 54 wt each T5 over a 55 gallon. Thanks we're re-building and they are one of the few zoo's that survived miraculously

i have mine at the bottom of my tank and medium flow and they like it, what i have read about the blue zoas/palys is that they like low light to get the bright blue color...

mine is bot under 250w MH but i hear they can do well under med or high as well

Mine do well just about anywhere. The reason Tubbs are so widespread is they maintain their color under many conditions and grow fairly fast.

this is high up my tank under 150w mh..my other frag is in bottom of tank and its pale blue..the one in the pic is really blue so i moved the frag from the bottom high up..i notice it went darker blue so for me tubbs blue likes light:bigsmile:
any flow....

I had a colony 8" under the waters surface with 8 T5s (54wattx8) over a 100 before no issues. Right now I have a colony 3/4th up the tank under a 250 watt MH 14Ks looking good holding their color.

Mine are under 150w MH, and on the bottom of my tank they had a nice blue color but the skirts were sort of a faded brown. I moved them into the upper 1/3 of the tank, and the blue color has stayed about the same, but the skirt has turned a much deeper reddish brown.
