Tubular arm off Candy Cane - ID please

Hi Everyone!

I need some help identifying this tubular arm coming from the base of my candy cane. When I first noticed it, I assumed it was just another candy cane head growing but as it has grown, it hasn't. Is this something part of the candy cane? or is this some sort of hitchhiking thing . . .

Any inputs would be great. Its spits out these long strands all day long.

Looks like a big vermetid snail to me. I’d get some bonecutters or pliers and crush it at the base.

There is a few methods to get rid of them but I like what @NISMO703 said best.

the dreaded vermited snail. remove from the coral. some don't have a problem with them but there mucous can irritate corals.

Just an update. I broke the tube at the base. I think I got it but I also coated the coral base with super glue in case I didn't get it. I'll keep watching that area.
