I’d like some feedback as to how YOU would set my LED lights for a mixed reef.

The lights are 4 channel and each individually adjustable. I’ve been running channel 2 and 4 at less than 100%

This is the 100% spectrum as advertised

Here are the spectrums for each channel.

Channel 1…… 6 x 460nm.

Channel 2…… 6 x 12,000K.

Channel 3…… 4 x 460nm. 2 x 410nm.

Channel 4…… 4 x 450nm. 1 x 630nm. 1 x 525nm

Cheers

What fixture do you have?

I’d mix the color till it looked good , and then set the intensity with a par or lux meter keeping the same ratios.

Thanks, only just saw this after my last post.

But "looking good" isn't a very technical way to do it?

I have a LUX metre.
Well kinda , if you consider that a true full spectrum 5600k bulb will grow coral at the right intensity, it is.
So with what you have , you’d be hard pressed to do it “wrong”.

Well I could run the 12,000Ks at zero , or the other three channels at only 10% o_O, big difference.

You think 100% on all channels would be the best?

cheers

Lol. That’s pressing hard.

Honestly, set all the channels at 75% or 100% and lower each of them till you like it.

Then, look for 6000-8000 lux on the sand for a mixed reef. 9-12000 for acro n clams.
That’s often about (lenses diffusion etc ) 28,000 -35,000 lux at the waters surface on a 24in or so tank.
6000lux for about a 20k look is about 100 par. 6000 by 60.

You can also test the fixture dry at the same depth/distance.

OR Just estimate at the top and watch the coral.

I'll play.

Channel 1, 3, and 4 at 100%.
Channel 2 at 25% to 100% depending on your visual preference. You can also tweak channel 4 down some if needed, but I can't imagine the one 630 nm and one 525 nm LED making that much of a visual impact relative to the 12K led's.

Thank for that input Daniel.
