Has anyone here bought the new Osmolator 3? I am ready to pull the trigger on one but I cannot find any specs on the cable length other than you can buy a 9 foot extension cable. I am going to be running this in my basement RO barrel and need about 10 feet or so to reach the floor above and get to my sump where the optical sensor will be.

Thanks

Can't seem to find the length for the Osmolator 3. The older version had a 10' cable included; I have no reason to believe they have changed that much for the new one! :-)

Good news - If it's not long enough, Tunze makes extension cables.

Well true to form I bought it anyway ;). The extension cable is $40 for 9 feet was hoping I won’t need it. Looking at the sensor then the pump it does seem to have a decent cable length. I’ll share when it arrives.

Let us know how you get on! :-) High chances that someone will be searching for this information soon enough..

All these cables never tend to be long enough! I have four Octo pumps of various prescription running on my tank - all with extension cables on. Another way for them to make money i suppose..

Will do! I read every website that sells it even the Tunze site itself, in German and no luck. Such an odd thing to leave out of the specs because I am sure someone will need to know if this is going to reach a remote location.
Thanks again.

Yeah, this is the only reason why i don't use the Tunze on my large tank- i keep my large RO bucket in a different room in the house :-) Really just the Neptune ATK for me at this point..

I have two Osmolator 2's on smaller tanks though and I do love them. Rock solid!

I'd say the sensor to the power/pump connection cable is about 5' and then the connection to the pump cable is about 8'. So hopefully that helps someone. I used standard 1/4" RO tubing to plumb it and it works fine, no leaks.

I will say this, at 10' of head, the pump output even in boost mode is pretty low. To the point that I am worried if I remove any water to bag a frag or something, I will hit the 10 minute timeout.

its been about a month now, can you give an update on your concern?

The flow is a bit better. I checked it a couple of days ago. It will still hit timeout if you remove a lot of water (as it should) but should be fine in most cases.

When i get home from this trip i can measure flow rate.

Overall i am happy with the system. I wish their extension cables were available though.
