Tunze 3155 Osmolater Optic sensor issue

Tunze 3155 Osmolater I top off the tank with kalk but I'm having issues with it leaving a ring of calcium on the optic sensor and tricking the system into thinking level is full. has anybody figured out a work around for this. Can I replace the sensor with a float type, and if so which one? Thanks in advance for your input.

Is the kalk going into the tank right where the optical sensor is? If so, I'd simply move the hose outlet elsewhere, so that it's not encrusting the sensor.

Good point. I did move to other side of sump but still get build up. Maybe I'll try inputting into the main tank.

Don't know that I'd go to the main display... I route my kalk drip into my sump splash down area. High, turbulent flow. It's got to pass through the ref and skimmer compartments before it gets where the sensor is.

I've long used ATO as a kalk supply... I don't do this anymore. I mix up 2 gallons of kalk, and use a dosing pump to drip it slowly into the system. Plain RO/DI in the ATO. Yes, I'm reducing the amount of Kalk I'm putting into the system this way, but I'm dosing a known, stable amount of kalk, and at a much slower rate than my ATO was dosing it. pH bounces have quieted quite a bit since I switched to this method.

Yes, that's the issue, the PH bounce. I already dose alkalinity and calcium but like the added PH boost of the kalk. Maybe I'll go back to dripping or get another pump. I'll also try moving the tube to a higher flow area. Thanks!
