What's the date on it? They're stamped (month/date) io the side of the motor block.

Thanks. They stamp numbers in the side of the square motor block part; taking the outside cover off helps to see it. I recently had one go bad that was built in 2012, so they apparently don't last forever and the replacement motor block is like $90+

I'll will check and see what I find. I don't think this pump is more than 2-3 years old. I am not sure when they started putting these controllers in line with the pump.

They do last a long time though, I wouldn't count them out because one of them happened to die early.

Curious, did you have that pump running as a wave maker or at constant speed?

Wave maker. It was made in 7/2012. I've had Tunze pumps for years and do like the fact that they can be repaired. Just weighing new vs used and have something new to factor in.

Pump says 1015. So I am assuming Oct 2015.

I've used it as it constantly being on, not as a wave maker. Assuming that may extend the life of these pumps.
