The pump (see picture below) is still good except as you can see, the part where the rubber housing/coating for the cable has become hard and brittle and broke apart after I did a vinegar soak recently. Question: is this repairable or scrap ... ? :(:(

Thanks in advance

I’d check out the tunze site and see what parts are available and and how many $$&$&$ it is.
Usually pretty reasonable.

I say trash but its just my opinion and what I would do....no need for stray voltage risk

I have a strong feeling Tunze won't be able to fix/repair it as the cable goes right into the main pump housing ... it's such a good pump to waste

I would throw some silicone around it and call it a day.

Was thinking of swinging by my lfs and apply some silicone (one used for tank build application) but then read that there may be a risk of copper leakage or stray voltage risk ... aarrrghhhh

You could try some type of rubber coating....like "Flex Seal", and then put the silicone around that to further protect. Since flex seal is aerosol rubber, it will help protect the current and is 100% water tight.....then the silicone is an extra layer of protection from water.

Just my 2 cents though.

How do I connect with Tunze about the part(s)? Probably a hassle since I'm in Toronto ... but thanks saltyfilmfolks (now then do I realize your avatar name :D)
Lol. Go to the tunze website. It should give you the option of tunze Usa and Canada.(as well as most all Europe etc)
There is also a parts link. Just enter the the 6150 in the search and it’ll give you a list of parts.
