Tunze 6150 with or without deflector

How does the flow compare with and without the 90 degree deflector? Does the deflector diffuse the flow making it more difficult to reach the other side of a tank? In my case, 6.5'.

Does anyone own these? They don't seem to be very popular.

Perhaps not in US, but in Europe seem to be

i've got two and so far been fairly happy. Read somewhere that it works best wo any deflectors or direction enhancers.
My prob currently is cyano on the sandbed. Tried to clean it for the first time last week and thus relocated the pumps to better fit that part as well.

What's your experience so far?
