Tunze 9001 help please

I just got (two day’s ago) a Tunze 9001 skimmer and an in tank media basket for a RSM 130d and so far I’m not impressed. I have it set to water line I’ve been adjusting the air intake for two days and still just filling up with either nothing or tank water. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated - thank u!

Hey Nhjmc, the good news is that it takes a few days for those skimmers to break in. I had one as well and after about a week the control was a lot better and it was only skimming gunk. You have to let the plastic get a little funky before they work well. So try to tune it in as best you can and keep tuning it and it will get there for you.

Is it going to be OK that I don't have a proper operating skimmer for a whole week? I had to take the stock skimmer out as it doesn't fit with the intank media basket installed. Sucks because I love the intank media basket wish I could keep it and just put the stock skimmer back in maybe try buying a new motor for it but darn it that stock skimmer is SOOOO loud.

Is it me or do you think it just sits way to low in water? I have it set in tank right at water level mark on skimmer.

The magnet not very strong (attaching to an intank media basket).

Overall just seems so small but does say will work in tanks up to 50 gallons.

I gave up on it yesterday and just turned it off which I don't love doing/not having a skimmer running/working properly.
