tunze 9001 on frag tank?

hey so I set up a frag tank and I have a 4x6" space to work with with a 4.5" water depth for a skimmer. The closest one to fitting this requirement is the tunze 9001. One think I do like about the 9001 is the ability to surface skim with it since my only filtration on this tank is 5lbs of LR (12g frag tank). The one thing I'm concerned about is bulk reef supply says the water depth for the tunze should be 5.3-6". I only have 4.5" of water depth because it's a very shallow tank. Would the lower water level be detrimental? If anyone has any other skimmer suggestions based on these requirements I'm open to suggestions. I was also looking at the cad lights pls-50 elite but that needs more water depth from what I've read

I ended up going with the cadlight pls-50 elite. The water depth range is supposed to be 4"-7.5" which will fit within my space and water depth constraints. I will report back once I get it and set it up and see how it's going to skim
