Tunze 9001 protein skimmer

Does anyone have any experience with this protein skimmer? It is the only one that will fit in the back of my Red Sea max 34 gallon aside from their stock skimmer which broke on me

I don't have the 9001, but I do have it's bigger brother, the 9004, and I'm fairly happy with that.

I have a JBJ28 and picked up a Tunze 9002 because I was told it fit in the back. Well when I found out the only place it fit was in the center section and you could no longer use the media baskets and you had to literally cut off the magnets on the skimmer and you couldn't open the hood without removing the collection cup..... I didn't like any of that.

So I took the hood off, made a custom hood, and ran the skimmer in the back corner of the tank (on the DT side). Well I wasn't impressed with the 9002 and eventually switched it out for the 9004. This one seems to be an OK skimmer.....and again, the 9001 is a smaller version of the 9004.

Thank you I bought the 9004 and I couldn't get it to fit in the back compartment of my Red Sea max I'm bummed because I heard so many good things about the skimmer . I'm going to try the 9001 and see if it fits. Actually my tank isn't doing all that bad without a skimmer

I'm using one in a JBJ RL20 and I've been happy with it. Works well, but it's certainly touchy on the air adjustment.
