Hi all!
I have a new JBJ 45AIO tank that I have only had fish in for about 2 weeks now.
I am struggling with my protein skimmer Tunze 9004.
while I was cycling the tank I ran the skimmer after about 3 weeks or so in the 2nd rear chamber. I was really getting nothing but liquid in there and it would fill up in a day.
After watching the few videos I could find I moved it to the far right chamber this week. I don’t see any improvement in this position either.

I have tried playing around with the air intake and have tried keeping it just on the other side of it making sucking sounds.

I don’t know what else I should do to get this working properly. It’s my first time using a skimmer so am I missing something?
Thoughts?

If you hear sucking it is either not low enough or the air tube is closed to much. If you open the air to stop sucking sound and it fills with water it's to low. I suggest setting hight with air wide open. I have 9004 like you they are touchy on water level once it's set though they work good. To get around filling every day drill a hole in side and put a tube in for acclimating fish or a air tube and glue it in and have the tub run to a container like a jug with hole in top to put tubing through. Like reverse dosing but taking out gunk. Just dobt forget to clean the tube/ empty the catch
