Tunze 9012 in Waterbox AIO fit

I'm considering Waterbox AIO for my next build. The back chamber is 4.7 inch wide. I am hoping to fit a Tunze 9012 skimmer in there. The skimmer is 4.3 inch, which in theory should fit. I was wondering if the 0.4 inch space in front of the skimmer intake is sufficient for the operation of the skimmer. Can someone with a tunze skimmer in a AIO comment? How much room do you need in the front of the skimmer to allow for sufficient water intake?

The next size down is 9004, which is a little small for 65G ( including the rear sump).

Looking at the skimmer dimension again, the water intake is at the other direction and we have about 0.8 inch clearance. I would think this is good.

This is the only orientation the skimmer will fit. To mount the skimmer this way, the external magnet mount will be on the baffle wall , which means it will be underwater. Will this be a problem in the long run? Rust?

I have the 9001 in the water box 20, but I had to remove the magnet and glue it back on the side, so that it can be attached on the back wall. With the baffle in the middle, the magnet is not strong enough to hold the skimmer stable at the proper height.

Did you work it out? I want to buy the same tank and wondering about the skimmer options out there before buying?

No. I did not proceed with this path. I ended up with 9004 dc. I read up more on skimmer in general and I am in the under skimming is better then way over skimming camp. I hate to modify a brand new expensive skimmer.

my tank have not arrived yet, so I cannot comment if it’s the right decision.

Alright well keep me posted if you can, even if I order now, it's going to be like 2 months before it get delivers, so your experience will be greatly appreciated

Sorry I don’t have experience with Fuji aio . I am getting waterbox aio tank (not retrofit).
