Anyone have one of these? Or something similar?
I would run a chiller, but I don't really have the space for one, let alone room for another pump in my sump.
Tank is running around 80 with no light.

They are expensive and very weak.

They are a lot stronger than the ones they sell on ebay. Also the way the wind is blown, across the surface water, is the best way to evaporate water to reduce temp hike.

AC on all the time or, fans. Put a fan on the sump and a fan under the lights. A good chiller is a great investment in your reef though.

Thanks, I prefer the look of this over some of the other options, just don't want to the waste the money if it doesn't make a difference.

Thanks, I try to run the AC as much as possible. just put a fan blowing into the cabinet. i agree, i would definitely prefer a chiller. its just not ideal at the moment.

Eliminate the heat problem by switching to LEDs?

Walgreens desk fan works great! (its a mini fan with a big clip and comes with a stand too) Idk how big your tank is, but even if you need 2 @ $12 bucks a pop, they work quite efficiently. Hook it up to an apex and you got yourself an automated chiller. The increase in air flow will evaporate water more quickly, so just beware of that.

I'm using a kessil a360
But while the tank cycling with no light it sits around 79-80. I run the AC as much as possible but not 24/7. I've been putting a small fan facing into the cabinet Which definitely helps but isn't really pleasant on the eyes.
