Tunze ATO people

I got mine for black Friday installed it, I have not had a problem since. I have a rimless tank and that thing keeps up with the evap perfectly it pumps for short amounts all the time.

I know a few posts back I sang the tunze praises. This one I got has now got me saying differently. Fist the bottom of the pump has started spinning off every time the pump turns on. Second I can't for the life of me get the optic sensor right. It is constantly overfilling my sump and draining the ato container.

First one I liked, this one I am about to toss out.

Did you wipe the sensor off with some vinegar or similar before use?

Ugh oh! When you say the bottom of the pump, it actually comes completely off? Where did you buy yours?

Yes the bottom blue cap. It directs the water into the fill line. And yes completely off. I am going to try gluing it back on with Weldon. I had a spare pump, but still.

If it is draining your container, make sure you are not accidentally creating a siphon. The hose may be going too far down into our sump. You can observe this by triggering it on and then seeing if the pump is off while water continues to run.

The hose is just into my sump, about 4" above the water line to keep this from happening.

It goes like this...alarm sounds that it is to low. Turns pump on and runs for about 30-45 seconds and shuts off. Repeat cycle every half hour to hour.

It seems like your return area isn't being consistent level wise. Mine does this. I put the sensor below the water enough that it would compensate for the up and down. It's not dramatic, but enough. I also turned down the stream inside the Tunze box, so if you haven't done that, you might want to consider it. And in some places water can evaporate that quick depending on humidity.
