Tunze ATO solenoid

I would like to switch from my Tunze pump to a solenoid valve but $90 seems outrageous! Has any tried to use a generic 12 volt solenoid with the Tunze osmolator?

i've heard mixed reviews with the 29.99 APEX solenoids, some people just use the onlines no name brand ones, but you have to make sure they are the right voltage for your set up. i'm following for more information
