So I just purchased the Tunze ATO, and was running it through a couple tests to make sure the emergency float valve works. So I raised the level in the Sump to trigger the float valve.
And the alarm went off as it should, then I noticed the ATO armed the pump on to top off the sump even more>?
Any ideas?? This is obviously exactly what I did not want to see. I ran the ato line(water line) from the pump vertical a foot or two so siphoning could not occur. The controller shows the pump armed in this situation.

But it's not pumping any additional water in to the sump? When the alarm sounds, you can see the pump light is on but it's not pumping? Just want to make sure I get what you're saying

Sorry to clarify, the pump is indeed pumping ato water into the sump in this instance

only did this 2/4 times I tested it, and it seems to work fine in normal operations, pump cycling on and off to fill the sump in a normal scenario.

Float valve goes up, alarm sounds and then the pump starts putting more water into the sump? I know that when I unplug my unit, no matter how high the water level is, when I plug it back in, it will pump a certain amount of water into my sump.

That is correct, and interesting. I did not let it pump a lot of ato water into sump. Did not want it to throw salinity off too much. I would think with the float being actuated, it would be counter intuitive to have the pump cycle on lol.

I don't get it but it always does but only in the case of unplugging the unit. It doesn't matter where the water level is, when you plug the unit, the lights come on, there's a pause and then the pump cycles on for, maybe 10 seconds? I love my unit and would be another one without question. If you continue to have issues, you can reach out to Tunze. They are really responsive and good folks to work with.
