Tunze care magnet strong +

Hi all is anyone using a strong + on 15mm glass just curious if it would be to much as I thought the strong would be suitable but then the Tunze rep advised to get the strong + for 15mm glass .

keen to hear what people think that are using it

I would follow the Tunze reps advice and get the strong+. I think you will regret the strong. My tank is 16.6 mm and I wish the strong + was a bit stronger.

Thanks for the reply, so even the strong plus isn’t strong enough for 16.6mm glass even though it’s for 20-25mm thick glass

It is but barely. It separates if I move it to quickly especially when turning it. I would think it would be almost useless on 25mm to be honest. I have acrylic not that it matters

It doesn’t leave any scratches on the acrylic?

No. I made my own acrylic blades for mine out of some scrap acrylic I had around. I wanted square corners so I could gear closer to the corners of my tank. My blades seem to work better without scratching it.

Not to derail the post but can you please post the photo of the blades you made.

I just used the original as a pattern. I cut three as I did not know how long they would last. Both sides can be used. The one in the second photo needs to have two notches in the center dye, one each side like you can see in the first photo.
