So I am putting together a HoB refugium for my 55 gallon tank. I picked up the Tunze 8821 (says for freshwater, though the description states can be used for marine) by mistake over the 8831 (specifically for refugium). Should I send it back and get the 8831 or does it not matter much in the long run? Thanks for any input.

If it is the one that is 6500k it works great, it's the one I use and I am very impressed. Before the trend of red light, traditional knowledge was to use 6500k. I've used both and have success with both, personally I could not argue one was better than the other. I use it in a 90g predator tank in a small refuge chamber with caulerpa, gracallaria, and ulva; undetectable nitrates and phosphates.

Honestly that's a relief because I can't find the 8831 anywhere in stock. I spent the last hour going through the Tunze distributor list hoping to find a mom and pop shop with a decent online store and one in stock. Spoiler... there isn't, lol.
