Does anyone on here have any noise complaints for the nanostream 6040? I read a few reviews that said it was noisy and a few that said it wasnt.

Have not noticed any real noise. There is vibration on any power-head on glass and if you get it on a stand that is sensitive to vibrations any power head will be noisy. My Vortech's make more noise than the Tunze 6040's:)

My tank is super quiet, and I have one pump, and yes, you can here it cycle on and off, a humming type noise. Fortunately my tank is in the same room as the TV, so I cannot here it unless I am trying to hear it, like any white noise, seems to fade once you get used to it :)

Thanks, the tank is next to my tv and the absurd click from the korallias turning on/off is getting annoying after 8 months. I was looking at the 6055 and 6095 which reviewers said is dead silent. But its going into a 40 breeder and feel those may be too powerful.

Now im wondering if the hum from my light's fans would block it out?

Noise is so subjective if one has an aquarium you are going to have noise in the room.

I totally agree but i was hoping to get first hand experience with clicking or obnoxious rattling. I understand there will be noise in the room, but would still like it to be to a minimum. I have severe tinnitus and the clicking from my current pumps physically hurts.

The pump has rubber gromets that dampen the noise, again, not the loudest noise I have heard, but definitely a humming in wave mode, cycling on and off. Again, all subjective, the wife has not even noticed, so I am not worried. I love the little Tunze pump, and like all Tunze, the seem to last :)
