Tunze Nano ATO

Can anyone confirm the correct position of the float switch for the Nano ATO?
I was under the impression it was meant to face downwards, just checked with the online manual, it could be an old copy but it say...

The sensor should always be mounted horizontally!

Surely that must be a misprint? If horizontal would it still be a “float switch” and work correctly?

Were they saying the float should be horizontal to the floor? I feel like the perspective you're looking at would make a huge different. This is a place where a picture is worth a thousand words. Either way, you defiantly want the float to be able to move up and down.

Yeah all the pictures show it vertically until you get to the part where it talks about the sensor placement then the pictures suddenly go horizontally!!!

The wire should be coming out the top of the sensor. I agree they probably meant that the sensor needs to be mounted level with the floor.

I have the same one. I think I remember being confused by that instruction as well. I have it mounted so that the float can move up and down. the bottom of the float is horizontal, but the pole it moves on is vertical.

This is what mine looks like in my tank. I would go with the picture over the wording. Technical writing is hard.

Maybe something got lost in the translation lol

you have the same, whilst you are here, the reason for me taking a 2nd look was over the last few days the ato has be over filling enough to drop my salinity, do you notice inconsistent fills? some times it’s just below the float switch other times it can be a good 1-2cms over the switch.
