Tunze nanostream 6095. GHL Profilux 4 setting

roger, during the settings it asks minimum voltage setting and maximum. i know the pump is 1-10 but what if known is the minimum operating Voltage and max should we set? if that makes sense. if a screenshot of the program is needed @porter_painter can maybe show the screenshot of tunze setup.

Here's mine. Had them running for years like this without issue. I suppose you can set up the lower voltage to another voltage value (above 1), but if the tunze have a minimum run speed then it's probably easier to work out what that minimum run speed as a percentage of the total and put that into the stream section as I have done.

So for a tunze 6095 the flow rate is 2,000 to 9,500lph. 2/9.5 = 21% so as long as you keep the minimum run percentage about 22% the tunze won't stall. (Mine runs minimum 30%)

So you only run pumps.from 30 to 50 percent. Unless a storm?

I know roger mentioned on my build. He likes to have one at 30 constant while other does random flow from 30 to 100 from my understanding. Which can be duration or intervals of my choice. Then like 8 hours later. It changes sides. Other is 30 constant while other changes random from 30 to 100? I'm sure he will correct me

Yes, that is roughly the set up I would use, this mimics the effect of tides and waves but 5-6 hours is better.

The newer streams with built in 7090 are 0-6.5V, 0 is off, 6.5V is 100%, the older without 7090 are 0-8V.

And have the speed change randomly how long intervals. For a total of 5 hours before switching sides.

@porter_painter there is our 6095 voltages. I'll have to test it when ghl ships. 0 to 6.5. Then set it to 30%

Once controlled by ghl? The dials on built in controller are irrelevant correct? Doesnt matter where any of then are turned to?

It is best practice to have main speed set to full power and the pulse and pulse speed set to off, their can be some overlap.

3-5 seconds between speed changes and 5-6 hours between pump changes.

Yes, my tank is only 2.5 x 2 x 2 ft so higher flow isn't necessary.

I guess that he's set up the Mode and set the durations to get that affect in the GHL. Or he might just be using a 7095 or other tunze controller to achieve it

Makes sense didnt know tank was that size. Yea that's what I'm trying to achieve. Not sure its doable with ghl. But I guess it's worth trying min volt 0 and max 6.5 like he said. Then run 30% min and 100% and see how it runs.

I'll have a play, but quite frankly having them run how I've sent them up has served me well.

It's good to know about the differences in the powerhead voltages too - mine are the older versions so 8v is right for me, but yes you shouldn't go above 6.5v. I assume plugging the control cable into the newer versions bypasses the dials/controls but as I don't have then I can't say for certain.

Oh ya if it ain't broke dont fix it and plus your older ones are set right. 0 to 8v per tunze. I have new ones in box still. Connecting all my equipment should be fun....not gonna pull little hair out I have left.

Roger. so i finally have the tank up and running with the 6095s.. about 8 inches down right across top of my rock work pointing mid tank or a little more towards front of glass on each side... GHL p4 settings i didnt get a chance to set them up like u mentioned... right now i have them min 35% max 100%. they are permanent opposites so whatever random % one uses it will switch to the other and continue to switch to random percentages. 3 to 10 second waves.

now i just have rock so hard to see flow... but im wondering if i should add 2 more 6095s on the side of my overflow in middle. higher up to agitate surface slightly more and push water straight to front of glass to hopefully use more flow and random. to help with dead spots and to future proof SPS.

is that recommended placements? 2 on sides and 2 on back middle pointing out?

if so what would be recommended to run 4 like this?
