Hi I am going to be purchasing 2 Tunze nanostreams "either the 6015,6025 or 6045" and was curious about a couple of things

1) how do the people that have these pumps like them? "I REFUSE to spend ecotechs crazy prices"

THey will be controlled from a Reefkeeper lite and run off of the wavemaker function of the RKL

Any thoughts on these pumps would be GREATLY appreciated

Thank you
Mike Grizzard

i dont think any of those 3 pumps can be used on a wavemaker..I think only the 6055 and up can be

only the 6055 should be used that way.The 6015,6205,6045 are not made to be turned on & off like that.

The 6015 and 6025 are loud on start up which gets annoying after about the 5th startup so I wouldn't do it. Get some Maxijets with the Sureflow mods....don't use the Marineland "Premium" setups...they click like crazy on startup

I have had numerous 6025 pumps and they are all great. They are not recommended to be constantly cycled on and off. I say buy them and cross their paths in the tank and they will be great. What size tank?

Go with the tunze 6055's, work great , spend a little more now and you will be better off, if you cannot afford new prices, try and find a used set and you can save some money

6025 and 6045 cannot be used on a wave maker

FWIW, I do love the 6025s. The size in the tank is great and very easy to point where you want. Additionally, the 6025s can be modded to push about twice the amount of water as they do factory. I modded two of mine and was amazed at the difference.

So what other pumps can be used on the wave maker functions off of a RKL??

its for a 34 gallon RSM but I REFUSE to spend the money on buying 2 MP10's...

Is there a different pump other than the 6055 that will work with the wavemaker settings on the RKL?

Isn't that quite a bit of flow for just a 34 gal tank? IMO you could easily get away with a single MP10 for that tank and have plenty of flow (granted you could buy just one)

Yeah just do an mp10, people are always listing them in the classifieds, keep your eye out for a good deal.

i just got my 6015 tonight to replace my Koralia 750..WOW this pump is awesome..it seems to move just as much water further it makes my 2 Koralia nano 425gph pumps look like they are useless..I already ordered a 2nd one and will be running them on each side of the tank with flow crashing onto front glass for random flow. I think they are moving way more then 460gph or the Koralia nanos 425 are moving WAY less. plus the 3D position ability is awesome
