I don't currently have a tank, but I'm leaning towards the marineland 93g cube. I have a question about powerheads. I want something that is controllable. I love the aesthetic of the Ecotechs, but am a little concerned about the fixed directionality of it. For that reason, I am leaning towards a couple Tunze 6095s. Am I wrong in assuming that because I have 360 degree control of the powerhead it will be better in a smaller cube shaped tank?

Either one is a great choice. I'd go with whatever fits your budget better.
How many vorechs were you considering? If its 1 vortech vs the 2 tunze I would go with the tunze pumps. I think you would need something in a addition to a single vortech to eliminate some dead spots, where as a couple tunzes you could move them as needed and prob get good flow throughout the tank.

The tank is going to be viewable on 3 sides though. So ideally, I'd like to keep the powerheads on the back wall

+2 on that

I would do 2 mp20s myself. Putting one on the back wall and 1 on a side wall.

They don't make MP20s anymore. Its just the 10, 40, or 60.

What are the dimensions of the tank you are considering. I would say you would want at least 1 mp40 in the mix on a 90+ gallon tank.
Maybe also consider 1 mp40 and a tunze 6095. Running off an apex or another controller you should be able to control them together pretty good.

Vortec all the way. You will love the modes and they are rebuildable. I run 3 mp40's on my 180.

Not trying to be argumentative, but with the 7096 controller, the Tunze is as controllable as the Ecotech (I may be wrong). And the fact that something is rebuildable is not something that inspires confidence. It leads me to think that failure is expected, and therefore, they make the parts replaceable.
I just don't want to throw down $800 on the wrong setup for my system.

Another thing to consider is glass thickness. The MP10s aren't recommended for anything thicker than 3/8" glass.
